Last December 5, 2008, Mariveles National High School-Poblacion joined the English Olympics in Limay National High School, Limay, Bataan winning 3rd Place in Spelling Bee, 4th Place in Essay Writing and 5th Place in Declamation.
The winners in the contest were Yanica Marzo(1-star) in Spelling Bee, Marriane Serrano(3-Star) in Essay Writing Contest, and Kevin Janolo(3-1) in Declamation.
The trainors were Mrs. Abigail Juño for Marzo Mrs Eloisa Irasga, for Janolo and Serrano.
The other contestants were Michelle Rosilio(1-star) in Readaton, Lacer Esteban, Joseph Jalober, Hazel Lacang, Brett John Barsomo and Harold Gamboa in Reader's Theater, Arniel Louis Selorio(4-star) in Extemporaneous Speech, Kevin Paolo Robles(4-star),Jeruz Roberts(4-star), Jerome Canare(4-star), Eunice Sayno(4-star), Jomel Medina(4-1), May Tamayo(4-1), Jean Risa Soriano(4-2), Florderizaliza Estella(4-2), Alvin Oclos(4-3), and Mark Acob(4-3) for Speech Choir.
